Town centre establishments are coming together for the Plates & Pours Wine Tour, a new event featuring some of Rochdale’s top venues. The tour includes The Baum, The Little Acorn Restaurant and Vicolo Del Vino, with support from the recently opened Hampton by Hilton, Rochdale.
The tour is the brainchild of Austin Hopley, who aims to celebrate Rochdale’s thriving independent food and drink scene.
Participants in the tour will receive a specially designed passport to collect stamps from each venue. Those who complete the tour will be entered into a prize draw to win an overnight stay at Rochdale’s new Hampton by Hilton.
One of the highlights of the tour is its accessibility. Each participating venue will offer a unique Plate and Pour experience for just £10 per person.
Austin expressed his excitement, saying: “We’re extremely proud to have created a multi-venue wine and food pairing tour, and pleased that all of the venues we approached shared our vision.”
Local leaders, including Nicola Walker from Rochdale’s Development Agency, were instrumental in bringing the event to life. Austin added: “This support has been key in making this idea a reality.”
The Plates & Pours Wine Tour aims to create a unique experience for punters while shining a spotlight on the town’s vibrant independent dining and drinking establishments.
The tour kicked off in August, and is on offer every Friday evening from 5pm.
