Winter 2021Russell’s Café moves to Yorkshire Street
One of Rochdale’s long-standing and most popular venues, Russell’s Café, has reopened in new premises on Yorkshire Street.
Now located on Rochdale’s high street after the closure of the Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre, where it had been since 1997, the new site has both indoor and outdoor seating and boasts a modern, contemporary vibe.
Owner Jeremy Guest said the café – which now employs 19 staff members – wouldn’t have been able to reopen without support from the council, which covered some of the costs, and the Rochdale Business Improvement District (BID).
He added: “Keeley Milne, our general manager, has been here since day one and she is the reason we’ve been so successful.”
Paul Ambrose, Rochdale BID Manager, said: “It’s great to see such a well-loved business has successfully relocated.
“Customers say the offer is better than ever and that it has been great to enjoy lunch on the outdoor terrace.
“We wish Russell’s every success in their new premises on Yorkshire Street.”
