Winter 2020Bluebird Care Rochdale recognised as best in Bluebird Group
Lockdown, pandemic, quarantine: these words have made little difference to what the team at Bluebird Care Rochdale have been doing over the last six months.
Indeed, they have cause to be rightly proud of their recent achievements. In July, Bluebird Care Rochdale came first nationally in a staff satisfaction survey of over 200 Bluebird Care businesses. Director John Keogh’s vision when he started the business was to ensure those delivering care were at the front of what they did and what they invested their efforts in.
John explained: “When we were looking to open a care business, we wanted it be something really positive. We were delighted to be recognised for looking after our team and they deserve recognition for what they do.”
In the last 12 months, Bluebird Care has doubled the number of customers they support and tripled the workforce as a result.
John is a passionate advocate of Dementia Friends, and at a new staff Dementia Friends session just before lockdown, John hosted Rochdale AFC director, David Bottomley and Head of Community, Keith Hicks, at Dementia Friends sessions. They subsequently requested John hold a further session for club staff to support the club in becoming Dementia Friendly.
The company supports local causes where it can and John has been delivering Dementia Friends sessions remotely since lockdown. Rochdale Mayor, Councillor Billy Sheerin attended one of the Dementia Friends sessions and was delighted to present Bluebird Care staff with vouchers for local businesses, purchased to give those companies – and the team - a boost.
