Summer 2019Hairdressing Trend - Precision Haircut
Vidal Sassoon had a transformational effect on the art of hairdressing. You have to understand what preceded the revolution, ladies attended the salon once a week and it was expected to last you all week, it sat on your head like a hat, solid, immovable and you could forget any idea of casually running your fingers through it.
So, what is the similarity to today?
Fast forward to 2019 and today’s hairstyles are long, choppy layers, which require a basic level of technical ability, and in my opinion they are becoming a little tedious. Mothers carry the same look as their daughters, every generation looks the same and many salons are producing very similar work.
I truly believe that the time is right for another hair revolution.
The precision haircut!
I had the privilege of completing my apprenticeship with Vidal Sassoon, and attention to detail was everything, the precision, beauty and sheer mind boggling perfection of the cutting brings freedom.
Many hours are spent to achieve this flawless look, but are joyously rewarded by the head shake which instantly returns any displaced hair to glossy angular symmetry.
I created this look for our model, Rojan; it is one of the freshest, short hairstyles for the summer, the ‘glossy hair look’ oozes style, sophistication and is so incredibly sexy, no choppy layers, no chipping, thinning or texturising.
This take on a classic cut is all about perfection, precision, graduation and attention to detail, it cannot be created in a 30 minute appointment, it takes more time, but it is definitely worth it, the hair has to fall meticulously with the shake of the head back in to place.
